The bass part was played by John on Long and Winding Road, and George on a new synthesizer heavily featured in Abbey Road’s penultimate album, and a left-handed Ringo on a new synthesizer heavily featured on Abbey Road. For most of their songs, Paul and John played all of the keyboard parts, with even Ringo contributing piano. On a wide range of songs, John, Paul, George, and Ringo all played guitars and basses. The Beatles were among the first bands to write their own songs and perform with their own instruments. By the time of their final album, “Abbey Road,” the Beatles were using electric guitars almost exclusively. As the band’s sound developed, they began to use electric guitars more frequently. The Beatles also used electric guitars on some of their early records, but they were not the focus of their sound. This was partly due to the fact that electric guitars were not as prevalent in Britain at the time. In the early days of the Beatles, the group primarily used acoustic guitars.
